![]() That’s my next project - wiring up some more Caseta dimmers throughout the house. We also have Caseta lights in a few rooms, including the master bedroom, but only a few. Yes, this sounds like I’m a shill, but I’m not. They have been going up and down at least once daily for almost two years on the original batteries, and I see no signs of slowing. We also haven’t had to change the batteries, yet, which amazes me. Again, they have worked flawlessly since day one, and always move perfectly in sync. I have Pico remotes on pedestals in all three rooms that can be used to raise/lower them at any time. Another goes down 30 minutes prior to sunset and up at 9:00 am. Three (in our bedroom), go down 30 minutes prior to sunset, and up at 8:00 am. I have two of them programmed through HomeKit to go down at sunset, and up at sunrise. Yes, they work in sync, and they work flawlessly. We installed them almost two years ago now. Happy to answer any specific questions about either product. ![]() I realize this doesn't fully answer your question, but hopefully it provides some useful perspective as a micro-review. It’s one app for convenient control of ALL your smart home accessories. I think with a couple small production/manufacturing tweaks, Eve would be way ahead, but right now I'd call them a toss-up tbh. But I'd also strongly consider cutting more IKEA units down to size IF they made them wide enough in the first place (which they don't), as their single design option actually matches my aesthetic preferences. I definitely would not pay 2-3x the price for Lutron. I like the Eve, and don't regret getting it. This is mostly due to how my window frames were manufactured, as it made installing the Eve a little fiddly. I actually prefer the mounting approach for the IKEA ones. I find the IKEA frame a little more aesthetically pleasing than the bare roller of the Eve. So in practice, the delay isn't meaningful. But I expect to have them move with automations 99% of the time, as I do with the IKEA. Setting max length is also a little better.Įve is indeed a little laggy in app control. I haven't had the Eve long enough to comment.Įve pairing is way better. Both are reasonably quiet and non distracting. seems like quite a waste)Įve has design options. I have not tried cutting the IKEA ones down to size as some people do (mostly as I'd have to buy new larger ones, and there's no sensible place to move the existing ones. I've got a freshly-installed Eve (well Omnia technically, but they're the same thing), as well as a couple IKEA Fyrtur.Įve sizing is way better.
